ZERUI INDUSTRY / PRACTICAL PROCUREMENT

Custom nameplate RFQ checklist: specifications needed for a formal quote

What should a custom nameplate RFQ contain?

Short answer

Include the intended use, exact artwork or text, dimensions, material or environment, finish and marking preferences, mounting method, quantity, delivery location and requested timing. An incomplete enquiry is welcome, but pricing and lead time require a formal specification review.

Eight fields to prepare before requesting a quote

This is a practical enquiry checklist, not a fixed price list. An initial response is not an order, payment confirmation or purchase contract.

  • 1. Purpose: equipment rating plate, component tag, panel or branding plaque.
  • 2. Artwork: exact text, model, units, symbols, serials or editable vector files.
  • 3. Geometry: width, height, thickness, shape, corners and hole plan.
  • 4. Material: preferred grade or a description of the environment.
  • 5. Process: recessed, printed or laser markings; preferred colour and gloss.
  • 6. Mounting: holes, rivets, adhesive, magnetic attachment or another method.
  • 7. Quantity: batch size, number of artwork variants and serialisation needs.
  • 8. Delivery: destination, requested timing and packaging requirements.

Why the catalogue does not display a universal price

Two projects using the same reference image can have different dimensions, material, quantity, process, finish, artwork and delivery terms. ZERUI quotes against the actual specification and does not promise a universal price, inventory status or lead time based on the illustration.

  • Review technical scope, commercial terms and delivery responsibility in the formal quotation.

What happens after you submit the RFQ

Artwork and feasibility are reviewed before a formal quotation. The authenticated workspace is used to follow requests and orders. Accepting a quote does not by itself mean an order was created or payment completed.

  • You can save and export the design in Design Studio before submitting the request.

Follow-up questions

Can I request a quote without CAD artwork?

Yes. Start with dimensions, text, a reference image and application details; missing artwork details must be resolved before approval.

Can a reference photo confirm price and delivery time?

No. Actual dimensions, quantity, process and delivery terms must be reviewed.

Does accepting a quotation mean payment succeeded?

No. A quotation, an order record and a payment receipt are separate events and must be verified individually.
